Doctrine gets its first employee

Starting in September 2008, I will begin working full-time on Doctrine! This great opportunity has been allowed by Sensio, the creators of the symfony MVC Framework. This arrangement will allow many great new things to happen for Doctrine. Below you will find a list of some of the things you can look forward to:
- Core Development
- The Doctrine Book
- Travel to conferences
- Doctrine Evangelism
- Commercial/Paid Support
- Workshops
- Certifications
This is also good news for the symfony project as it is due to officially support Doctrine as its primary ORM in future versions. I will also be helping the core symfony team with the official integration of Doctrine with sfDoctrinePlugin.

Great news, nice to see project evolving. The progress has been amazing since I first got to know the project in 2007 and this hopefully helps it even more.

Congratulation on this news! Doctrine is really a cool project and hopefully all its edges will soon be closed so it can easily be deployed on professional systems.

pro zend framework and doctrine collaboration - Posted by Yanko about 4 months ago.
I am using doctrine and zend framework in a production project (they work really well). I would like to have all mayor php frameworks (symfony, cake, codeigniter, zend) endorse doctrine as one of the "de facto" plugins for rich and professional ORM and DAL. Doctrine is a nice piece of software right now but it needs to be known more by the php community.

PHP requirement - Posted by Vincent about 4 months ago.
@Yanko - the only problem is that Doctrine's PHP requirements are higher than ZF's :(
Congrats!

I'm a propel lover, but with this I seriously think to take doctrine for my symfony 1.2 projects, good luck.
